Will Buller
Will Buller heads into his maiden season in British F3 in 2010 regarded as one of the most promising young drivers in British motorsport.
The Northern Irish racer is one of only ten drivers to have been selected as part of Team UK, the new national squad set up by the Motor Sports Association as part of its driver development scheme.
After finishing second in the T-Cars series in 2007, Will moved into single-seaters in 2008 with an entry into the new Formula BMW Europe Championship. The series for young drivers ran alongside European rounds of the F1 World Championship.
Remaining in the series for 2009, Will secured a top ten championship finish with a pole position at Silverstone and a podium finish at the Nurburgring.
At the end of the year, Will secured a drive in the Formula BMW Pacific race at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix and produced an impressive display to secure pole position and victory on one
of the most challenging street circuits in world motorsport.
Ahead of a full-time move into British F3 in 2010, Will headed to South America to take part in the Formula 3 Brazil Open event at the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo. On his debut for Hitech, Will saw off the challenge of a number of local drivers to secure victory and make the ideal start to his 2010 campaign. With the victories at Macau and Interlagos having marked him out as one to watch, Will will now hope to follow in the footsteps of drivers such as Jaime Alguersuari and Daniel Ricciardo – who secured the British F3 crown at the first time of asking.
Gabrial Dias
Gabriel Dias heads into his second season in the British F3 International Series in 2010, having run in the National Class during his debut year in 2009.
Having competed in Karting back in South America, the Brazilian moved to Europe to launch his single-seater career in 2008 – securing a drive with Fortec in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.
The initial plan had been to spend two seasons in the series and launch a championship challenge in 2009, but Gabriel’s plans were thrown into disarray when he was involved in an accident at Spa that
left him with a broken back. As a result, his 2008 season was brought to a premature end.
Having missed pre-season testing for the 2009 Eurocup season, Dias elected to bring forward his plans to move to British F3 and concluded a deal to compete for T-Sport in the National Class.
Despite a big accident during the opening weekend of the season at Oulton Park – where he was unable to avoid a spinning car ahead and rolled his car on the run to Cascades – Gabriel emerged as a contender for the title with eight National Class wins during the year and second in the championship standings.
With a year of F3 experience under his belt and vital knowledge of the challenging British circuits, Gabriel now turns his focus to the chase for overall honours and is sure to be a contender
as he looks to join fellow Brazilians Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barrichello and Gil de Ferran as a British F3 champion.
